Since Chivalry 2 dropped I have been having tons of fun with it. The idea of a multiplayer game where you aren’t worried about communication and executing things a certain way, and just worrying about fighting the enemy, is a breath of fresh air. I will admit, the longevity of the game was a concern I had considering there are eight maps – each with a specific mission to it – and a limited number of classes and weapons to use. After seeing a recent update to the games roadmap, my worries have subsided because Torn Banner has a lot of exciting plans for the future of Chivalry. They posted about the update on the game’s official Twitter account listing all the upcoming additions.
The first set of patches are mostly bug fixes but are for glaring issues like the party system issues the game currently has and fixes to their auto-balance feature. Their first content update – which does not yet have a release window – has tons of additions on top of the previously announced Galencourt map.
- Another unannounced map
- A new unannounced gamemode
- More customization options
- Player Profile Screens with stats, etc.
- Horse riding (!!!)
- Increased party sizes
- Unofficial server support
- Lower player count and competitive game modes
There is so much to look forward to for Chivalry 2 in the coming months. Be sure to check them out as the additions roll out in the coming months. While you are waiting though, if you haven’t picked up Chivalry 2 and are undecided, check out our Chivalry 2 review here.
