Games To Look Forward to in 2021…

The year 2020 was a very disappointing time for some gamers, thanks to the heartbreaking amount of delays and underperforming games. We will all join together and hope for 2021 to bring us an incredible year for the gaming communities. I will give my predictions for the games I believe I will enjoy the most for the year. I will also do my best to provide some insight into these games for you to look into them as well!

As many of you know, I am a massive(pun intended) fan of the Massive Multiplayer genre (MMOs). It is pretty easy to assume that New World has been on my radar for quite some time now. I was blessed; with the chance to get my hands on the previously provided tests in the middle of last year. There is a lot of content in New World, and I am dying to see what else is provided by Amazon. The upcoming MMO is honestly on a great track right now to deliver an experience that the MMO community has been needing for quite some time. My only real concern for the upcoming title is the combat might become quite stale because it is somewhat limited compared to other Massive Multiplayer games. New World has so many different aspects to the game that I hope it can get carried it’s success for several years.

To stay in the realm of a game with so many possibilities to Hypixel’s new game Hytale. Hypixel is one of the servers in Minecraft that made Minecraft one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played. It kept blowing me away every time Hypixel would add something new to their server or the little updates or games you would see. This is why I am so excited to see what they will do with their own game of Hytale. For the people who don’t know what Hytale is, imagine Minecraft on steroids. Hytale might be one of the games to be the next big blow up. It was crushing to see that due to the pandemic the studio has been having to take more time than previously expected. There is a lot to be excited about for Hypixel’s release of Hytale because the possibilities are endless for the insane game they will release!

I have brought up plenty of time on our This Week in Gaming Podcast. I have never been so frightened yet excited for a game to launch until Halo Infinite. The Halo franchise has been very close to my heart since the first time I entered a local game on Blood Gulch. Halo has always been one of my favorite narratives in a video game. However, the franchise has fallen off a cliff since the fourth installment personally. I believe that Halo Infinite could be the most pivotal game in the franchise. This could be the moment Halo is reborn, or it finally dies for good. Sure the franchise may never stop making games due to Microsoft being able to shell out constant funds. 343 Industries could lose their chances at Halo if this one flops, but even if that doesn’t happen the massive community might finally break. The last thing I am worried about with Halo is the game seems to be following the trends rather than innovating. We saw them copy classes from Call of Duty, jet packs from COD, and Titan Fall. Now we are seeing them go for an open-world style game, and rumors of even a battle royale to come.

The next title I am excited about sort of a curveball. I have expressed my love for horror games now and again, but I am so thrilled for Resident Evil Village. Village is a game I am excited to stream on day one! I have always had an interest in games like the newer Resident Evil Games, Silent Hill, and PT of course. The reactions you can get from the scares are always fantastic. This will be a nice change of pace for me in 2021, and I hope it can freak me out as much as Resident Evil VII did.

Before I get to my most anticipated game of the year, I would like to mention a few honorable mentions that everyone should keep their eyes on. Twelve Minutes, Outriders, Back 4 Blood, and City of Titans. We hope to see all of these games releases in 2021.

To jump back to the world of MMOs my most anticipated game of 2021 is Ashes of Creation. I have always been a fan of the standard tab targeting system with MMOs, but ashes of creation bring in that with the new wave of skill shots. I feel like this will be the perfect addition to an MMO that we have been needing. I was so excited to hear that the Ashes of Creation development has played and knew of City of Heroes my, favorite game of all time. I have a lot of faith in Ashes of Creation due to its twist on the modern age MMO mixed with some great aspects of current-day MMOs.

Let us know your most anticipated game(s) in the comments! If I missed one that you are excited about making sure to let us know on social media!
