The Roller Coaster Tycoon franchise controlled my childhood for five years. The idea to be able to take nothing and turn it into a business has always fascinated me. The business aspect of the games, but also the creative journey is so exciting. I have had a difficult time being creative, and I love builder games that give you a structure to be creative in some direction. Games like Dreams, which is a fantastic idea, but they don’t appeal to me because I don’t know what direction to go. That is why I LOVE MMORPG Tycoon 2.
MMORPG Tycoon allows me to live out one of my biggest dreams, creating an MMO. As most of you have heard on our podcast, MMOs have always been my favorite games. City of Heroes, World of Warcraft, and Lord of the Rings Online have consumed over three years of my life in-game. I don’t regret it in the slightest. MMOs provide you with the best possible experiences in video games. They allow you to socialize, create long-lasting friendships, hoard awesome loot, try to be the best player in the game, PVP, and defeat some badass bosses with your friends! I even tried to go to school for game development to make a new City of Heroes style game when it closed. I never made it through all the coding classes, but thanks to MMORPG Tycoon 2, I can make my dreams come true at a smaller level!

MMORPG Tycoon 2 is much more in-depth than I could have expected. When I purchased the game without hearing anything about it, I was expecting a basic game for 24.99$ that I would toss aside after a couple of hours of play. I have put thousands of dollars into League of Legends, Valorant, and Call of Duty, and MMORPG Tycoon 2 is one of the best investments I have ever made in a video game.
There is so much to do in MMORPG Tycoon 2! There are seven different styles of games you can create, and it is an incredible surprise that each mode can feel completely different from the last. I have messed around with the PVP, the combat-oriented style, and Story. There are still a few game types I still need to try out. There is even a free to play version, which allows you to add microtransactions to the game to develop your revenue. It is fascinating that you get to control the prices of the game and the subscriptions! It lets you play around with the different ideas of how companies can make their money off of their games from the original price, subscription, and microtransactions. After you name your game, select the style, you then get to add bonus statistics to help improve different aspects of your game. Before you start your creation, you can add bonuses to the socializing, combat, loot, exploration, and even advertising the game.
When it comes to MMORPG Tycoon 2, it is currently limited to the variety of different building styles, and some other customization is a bit bland. Which is the only negative I have experienced so far. I would love to see VectorStorm bring out some further customization options for player-interactive buildings. The funny part about the limited customization for structures is the customizations for scenery and character models are insane! You can go in absurd directions for the character and NPC designs for what they allow. I have spent way too much time developing the characters and NPCs in this game in so many unique ways!
As I have previously mentioned, I was not expecting much from a 24.99$ steam game, but this game has almost too much depth, which I believe is an incredible issue to have. I was expecting this to be a very drop and drag-style game like previous Tycoon games I have played in the past. The fact, I get to add networks, servers, and other technical products takes this game to a new level. One of my favorite things to do in MMORPG Tycoon 2 is to hunt for cheaters in my games. VectorStorm gives you the ability to search for players and warn or even ban them for cheating, and it is hilarious!
I would recommend MMORPG Tycoon 2 to anyone who has ever had an interest in MMOs, game design, or games with world-building aspects. VectorStorm does a great job introducing the game to new players to have a clear understanding, and you never feel lost in what to do. I hope to see more updates to come, like the one, dropped on September 22nd to introduce party systems. I am excited to see the path this game goes on. I hope there will be consistent care for this game because it deserves every bit of it. You can ask anyone who watched me play this game; I lost myself in it for hours on end because of how well made it is. If you are in need of a game to play, go to Steam and purchase MMORPG Tycoon 2, and thank me later.
